I haven't seen the new army book, but after reading the write up in this months WD I got the distinct impression that marks were gone, the designers apparently wanted to make the Beastmen a distinct race and not just a part of Chaos :?

The point I was trying to make basically in'a nut shell.

GW keeps revising how Chaos is played, from fully flexible (with only certain gods being mixed as "no no's") too being seperate with Daemons/Mortals together and Beasts seperate, to all 3 together and mixable books back to separate books for the factions but gods being able to mix and match and at the same time, having the marks go back n forth to mixing and not.

And how they do it is by constantly changing there fluff, and stories about how or why this should or shouldn't happen.

PS. sorry for the late response, had pc troubles and then the board wouldnt let me sign on, and thanks Worldbleeder as you can see problem solved.

That is correct, no marks. :BangHead: No freakin' marks. :cussing:

On a brighter note, it looks to be very cool book, even if most of the new models are not as cool. And the monsters in it could be lots of fun.

Mine will still be sporting this: Image

Glad to see the problem is resolved LordOfSkullz.

That is disappointing that there are no longer marks and I agree with you LordOfSkullz completely. I too find it annoying how they can't seem to make up their minds and keep changing the rules.

Much as I disliked that they split up the undead into Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings. I played an Undead army for a decade before they did that, now I just don't have the same passion about the split forces.
A good leader inspires by example but if that fails brutal violence works just as well.

That is a shame to hear about the marks...

@ Psychosis: Those are some nice Khorngors (i can only assume ;) very nicely done.

@Worldbleeder, I seem to have the same indecision about using my Daemons, and may be feeling the same pain about my Beastmen now. With or without Marks, they'll still look like followers of Khorne (I wont be repainting them just cause ;))

The 3 of them may be nice and all by themselves... But I much preferred mixing them all certain aspects of each always attracted my eye, while others.. Trolls for instance never really got me, nor did Marauders but now I'm finding myself putting them in my lists, for "filler" or even Screens. (Theres only so many hounds I can stand)

And to those fluff lovers, my said point above made more sense, over all to me. Lots of Beastherds following Mortals to war, accompanied by a few Daemons summoned to battle. Of course a whole army devoted to one of the 3 works as well... But the mix seems so much more Chaos.

But I'll hold back on a lot of critiquing until the book comes out and I can comb through it fully.
